Grown nearby at Clayhill Vineyard in Essex, our pinot noir is hand-picked and hand-sorted in the vineyard. The grapes travel the short distance to our winery in Battersea and are fermented naturally in small open top wooden vats with partial whole bunch. The wine is aged in 5-10 year old Burgundy barrels for 7 months. The resulting wine has refined tannins and elegance with undertones of sour cherry, blackberry and black pepper. Unfined and unfiltered.
Another small batch wine from this boutique winery in London. The pinot noir is highly regarded and gives us a chance to savour something a little different. Sergio, Black Book's winemaker is passionate about single vineyard wines and personally selects the vineyards he works with. Definitely one to try!
